At Boundary Bay Montessori our vision and values centre around providing a healthy and dynamic working environment in support of the development of the child. In this respect we are continuing to build our team to meet the needs of growth and change in our current staff in alignment with student & family needs. For the 2023-24 school year we require:

 Montessori Lower Elementary (6-9) Directress

Boundary Bay Montessori School is operated by the non-profit Board, Montessori in Delta Society (MIND). The school was established in 1990 and is located in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. We are situated in a natural pastoral setting with a wonderful view of the Cascade Mountains in the background. The natural environment provides many learning opportunities to foster student connection with the earth. The current school houses Casa (3-6), Lower elementary (6-9) and Upper Elementary (9-12) classrooms. Over the next year we will be expanding our school to include a Nido (0-3) program and additional Casa and Elementary classes. We have experienced Montessori Directresses who value working in a professional educational environment where collaboration is valued, innovation is welcomed and mentoring is available to create a team approach to working and learning. If you would like to join our team, we will be looking for people to fill the following positions in 2023/24.

Position:  Montessori Lower Elementary Guide/ Co-Guide/or Assistant

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Montessori Certification -Elementary 6-9: MACTE Accredited

  • University Bachelor Degree

  • Experience working in a Montessori elementary environment

  • Application ready for certification from the BC Teacher Regulation Branch

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Criminal Records Check & First Aid Certification

Duties/Responsibilities/Role:

  • Implement a Montessori prepared environment for the 6-9 age child

  • Plan & maintain a stimulating & developmentally appropriate environment both indoors and outdoors that supports the health & wellbeing of the child.

  • Exercise respect, patience, and empathy with children & families

  • Maintain parent communication & record keeping (oral & electronic)

  • Meet Ministry of Education learning & reporting requirements on each student

  • Work productively & cooperatively as a co-guide or assistant in the classroom

  • Keep up to date with professional development

 

Position Start Date:      August 28 2023

Employment Terms:     Continuing Contract upon 2-year completion of work cycle

                                     Continuing Contract upon 2-year completion of work cycle

Boundary Bay Montessori School will be expanding our programs in 2024. We will be renovating an additional building on the grounds of our beautiful rural location in Delta. As a result, we will be looking for new staff members who are committed to working with children and families who are a part of our Montessori community. Montessori trained Infant/Toddler Certification: ECE or ECEA P/T or F/T Guide or Assistant

 

Montessori trained Casa (3-6) Certification: ECE or ECEA P/T or F/T Guide or Assistant

 

Position Start Date:      2024

Employment Term:       Permanent Part-time and Full-time with government ECE WE bonus

                                     Continuing Contract upon 2-year completion of work cycle

                                     Salary or wage is based on qualifications, experience and role.
